I’m on a mission to empower women and change their lives. I achieve this through my gynecological practice where I create a safe place to have open conversations around sex and gynecological health. I also serve as a fierce advocate for women’s fitness through my work as a Board Member for Tri It For Life, a non-profit organization I founded in 2006.
Decades of patient consultation, surgical practice, research, and education, have enabled me to become established as an expert in the field of gynecology women’s sexual health. After completing my residency at UF Health Shands Hospital, I joined a practice of 5 OB/GYN physicians in Charlotte North Carolina. We grew to 8 practitioners and 35 staff, and proudly serve thousands of women within the Charlotte community.
In addition to my core practice, I co-founded the Center for Sexual Health & Education, completed an internship with a leading expert in sexual health, and joined the Board of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Health. Through affiliations with multiple pharmaceutical companies, I continue to serve as an educator to other physicians within the field of gynecology.
My public-facing work includes speaking engagements as well as televised and in-print interviews. Having identified the need to educate others on sexual health, I created a speaker series entitled Sex and Sensibility, and continue to deliver presentations and speeches across a variety of sold out venues. One of my favorite extra-curricular activities is my involvement in Tri It For Life, a community-based organization offering mentorship programs for women undertaking triathlons. We have four chapters, +650 members, and since 2013, 2,500 women have graduated from the program. I’m constantly inspired and energized by the determination, strength and camaraderie of our students and mentors.
