Dr. Carlos A. Zapata-Caballero is a distinguished Urogynecologist who completed his medical education in Mérida, Yucatán, followed by a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellowship in Urogynecology at the National Institute of Perinatology in Mexico City. Furthering his expertise, Dr. Zapata-Caballero completed advanced training in Sexual Medicine through the Asociación Mexicana para la Salud Sexual (AMSSAC) and the European School of Sexual Medicine (ESSM). Throughout his career, Dr. Zapata-Caballero has enhanced his skills through training and observerships in the United States, France, Hungary and Australia. He is actively engaged in international initiatives and has been recognized with numerous honors, including the John Bursch Award from the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG), the Carlos Slim Award for Advancing Health Research, the Linda Cardozo Scholarship from the International Urogynecology Association (IUGA), and the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Award from the International Pelvic Pain Society (IPPS). His accolades also include the Pat Miller DEI-Centered Award from ACOG, the Observership Scholarship from the International Continence Society (ICS), the ISSM Scholarship to the ESSM School of Sexual Medicine, and a diploma for Academic Excellence from the Medical Association for Health (AMSA) and the Open Medical Institute (OMI).
